The Garden at St. Adelaide’s

We’ve been starting from scratch building a garden around St. Adelaide’s. Because the soil in Texas is almost pure clay, we’ve been doing two things: amending plots for planting now with a combination of composted chicken manure and expanded shale, and, for a long-term “no-till” soil building project, gathering leaves and grass to layer over the clay directly.

Enjoy some photos of our current plants! We have a number of types of tomatoes as well as herbs, squash, and marigolds.
