The Gospel of Life Disciples (GOLD) model their lives and ministry on Jesus Christ. We live together as a family, caring for our elder brothers and sisters, rich in years and experience. We are committed to regular prayer, with a special devotion to the Eucharist which resides in a chapel in each Dwelling. We journey with each other, walking together in community as brothers and sisters in the Lord.
“They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common.”
– Acts of the Apostles 2:42-44
Our community’s name refers to the good news of Jesus, that every life is sacred, from conception until natural death. Jesus treated all human life as sacred, in a special way focusing on those who found themselves on the margins of society: the poor, the alien, the sick, and the dying. He always reached out to them with the deep and abiding love of God, treating them with dignity, healing their wounds, and reminding them of their deepest identity as a son or daughter of the Almighty.
Man is called to a fullness of life which far exceeds the dimensions of his earthly existence, because it consists in sharing the very life of God. The loftiness of this supernatural vocation reveals the greatness and the inestimable value of human life even in its temporal phase.
– Pope St. John Paul II
